About Our Founder
Dawn Slater has dedicated her career to fostering meaningful partnerships between First Nations, government, and industry. Prior to Cedar West, she played a key role in negotiating two of British Columbia’s ratified modern treaties and led consultation for one of the province’s most complex capital projects.
Throughout her career, Dawn has been committed to advancing truth and reconciliation. She has helped organizations navigate historical and contemporary Indigenous rights issues, advocating for agreements that reach beyond legal obligations and lay a foundation for mutual benefits and a strong economic future.
Recently, Dawn managed Indigenous relations for a major corporation with significant historical and ongoing impacts to First Nations lands, rights, and resources. With deep expertise in land research and issues resolution, Dawn brings a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to every engagement.
